Here’s wishing you and your family the happiest of holidays!
This year was one of a lot of emotions, both happy and sad. We lost both my Mother and Grandfather this year, and we are missing them both immensely. (This time of year especially. No one could do Christmas quite like Mom.)
In happier news, we adopted a new puppy. A German Shepherd/Husky mix that the girls named Sparkle. She is very loving and energetic, and has absolutely obliterated our back yard digging holes and chewing anything that will fit in her mouth.
Christina just completed her Master’s Degree in social work at the University of Michigan. She’s working as a clinician now at Child & Family.
Michael has continued her dance classes. Her instructor was impressed with how well she has been doing and invited her to joined a competition team. She’s learning tap, ballet jazz and hip-hop.
Frances spend about half the year obsessing over Halloween. Every time it got dark she’d ask if it was time to go trick-or-treating. When the day finally arrived she went as a witch. (“I’m Elphaba. A nice witch, not a mean witch.” She was very clear on this point.) Now that it has passed, she has of course moved on to obsessing over Christmas.
I left Play-Well to be a stay-at-home dad. I am somehow busier now that when I was working.
Merry Christmas,
Carl, Christina, Michael & Frances (and Sparkle)*
*Our cat Torgo’s here too, but he doesn’t wish anyone a merry anything.
