9-24-7: Changes to some stuff

Okay, so there have been a couple changes going on to the comic. (Again, yes I know. But that's the great thing about doing a webcomic, I can change it however I want and no one can fire me.) First off, I managed to get a job, which means a lot more money (compared to the "no money" I had previously been making) and a lot less time for the comic than I had hoped. So in an attempted to speed up production, I have started doing the comic entirely on my Wacom tablet. Saves a lot of time with inking and scanning and such, but it's taking some getting used to. Hence the drop in quality. I have also joined in the test run of the The Laziest Grind of them all, which forces me (kinda) to work faster to get comics done, leaving less time for fine tuning. Hopefully as I get used to this new way of making the comic the quality will improve, but right now I'm just concentrating on actually doing comics. Thanks to those of you who continue to read despite my less that regular updates.

7-19-7: Job Hunt

I graduated from college recently, so the past few weeks have been crazy with my job hunt. Hence the few updates. Hopefully once I find a job and get into a set schedule I'll be able to get back to regularly working on the comic.

I've also redone the comics layout (as you may have notices) to make the layout larger. If you notice any glitches with the new layout, please let me know.

5-24-7: Wallpaper

The last panel in today's comic is too weird not to become a wallpaper. Enjoy!

640 x 480

800 x 600

1024 x 768

1600 x 1024

2-7-7: OMGWTF COLORZ!

I think I'm finally getting into a comfortable spot with the most recent style overhaul. Okay, so it's not a rainbow or color, but it's a hell of a change from the pure black and white I have been doing in the comic. It was just getting too muddles at the lower resolutions required for the internet. Maybe when everyone has high-def computer screens I can go back to pure B&W. But for now I like the way this is working and I plan to continue using it. So what do you think? Love it? Hate it? I'd really appreciate any input people have on it so if you feel like sharing what's on your mind I encourage people to do so in the forum. Or if you's rather do it in private, you can always E-mail me.

2-3-7: Trying out some new stuff

Trying our a new shading style. Today's comic is too big to fit in the main page because it looked like crap when I tried to shrink it down. I haven't quite got the style down yet but I'm still fooling around with it. I'm thinking of testing out using some color and stuff so expect to see a whole bunch of style changes over the next couple of updates before I settle on something.

12-28-6: Christmas Break

Home now for Christmas break and testing out a new shading style. Still trying to work the kinks out of it. Going to need some more practice with it until I can get it to where I want it but I like the way it's looking so far. Also wasted some time doing pointlessly fancy panel borders with the new tablet I got for Christmas.

11-29-6: FINALLY UPDATED!!

Sorry it took so long to get this update up. This page totally kicked my ass. I had to redraw almost all the panels because they kept coming out crappy. The first panel took me 5 TRIES to get right. That, plus I'm at the end of the semester crunch here at school with lots of projects to work on combined to make this update take way, WAY too long. And it's not even that complicated a comic! Just a person opening a door! GAH!

Well, it's done now. and thank God.

11-15-6: Free Comic Book Day 2007

Matt Johnson (aka Cortland) had been put in charger of putting together the next "Free Comic Book Day" Comic Genesis Sampler. Basically, a whole bunch of Webcomic artist (myself included) will be putting together short little comics that will all be put together into a book and given out on Free Comic Book Day (May 5th, 2007).

Putting something like this together is not cheep though, so we are looking for people to donate a little something here and there so we can reach our goal of $2,000.00 (see link above). All sponsors will be listed in the book, and thanked for their help. Also, we will be selling ad space in the book for as a way to help earn the money. For more information go here.

10-15-6: I'm out of the grind :(

As you may have noticed, I missed my update on Wednesday, so that means that I'm out of the grind. I did better than I thought I would when I started, though. I lasted about a month, which is pretty good for me. I just have too much work to do for school right now to keep up the 3 x a week schedule. I'm going to try to keep up with my update schedule as best I can, but I have to concentrate on my school work.

10-1-6: I am your art monkey

I recently finished redesigning the front page. I am trying to promote my self as an Illustrator and am starting to try and get commissions. So if you are in need of a drawing of any kind, I am your art monkey. I'll draw just about anything you could desire (except porn) so if your interested don't hesitate to E-mail me your request. Single character drawing are $20 for B&W, $25 for color. For information on more complex commissions, check out the commissions page.

9-29-6: Damn Car Batteries

Another way to close call, made even closer by the fact that with 1 panel left to draw and only 2 hours to go my roommates girlfriend comes in and tells me that she needs me to go jump-start her car. I ended up drawing the last panel at supper speed and throwing it all together on the computer as fast as I could. But I made it (barely). I really need to build up a buffer again.

9-24-6: AAAARRRRGHHH

Cutting it a little close today with my update, but I still have a few hours to spare. I would have had a few more hours if I hadn't accidentally DELETED the comic file right as I was getting ready to upload it, and had to put it all together again. DAMN YOU MY STUPID BRAIN!

9-20-6: Page number 56

I'm really glad with how todays page came out. I haven't really been liking the last couple but this one came out pretty much just the way I wanted. Because of the grind, people have been giving me a lot og good advice about what to do to improve the comic and I think it's paying off.

9-13-6

My first grind entry! Woo hooo! Meaning that I have made it at least a day. I'll take any victory I can get.

9-10-6

NOTE: I should clarify. The contest starts on Monday, but because my update schedule is Sunday, Wednesday, Friday my next update wont actually be until this Wednesday. Also, the grind page is finally finished thanks to the efforts of Net and Komi. So now you can check out all the lazy bastards that are participating.

9-4-6

IT'S FINALLY HERE!!! On Friday September 1st, the Cornstalker Collective officially came into existence. What is it? Well, basically it's a group of webcomic artists who all hung out on the Cornstalker forum and one day someone said "Hey, you know what would be cool? If we got together and make a collective where we could all promote each others comics!" And thanks to the efforts of some very cool people (Namely Matt Johnson, R. L. Peterson and Daniel Orta) it has finally come into existence! So go check it out and read all the comics on it. They are all very cool and I'm not just saying that because I'm one of them. (Although we all know how extraordinary cool I am)

Also, I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that I won't be updating again until September 11th. The good news is that it's because I'm building up a buffer so I can participate in the Lazy grin 2.0! What dose that mean? It means that I'm going to be updating 3 times a week for as long as I can! Knowing me that won't be long, but I'm going to try my damndest. (The fact that it's starting on September 11th is not related to 9-11, it just happens to be the second Monday of the month). I've got 3 comics done already and am working on a 4th, so I should last at least a week.
